The Role:

We are looking for a detail-driven and proactive Financial Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. This role includes responsibility for areas such as the general ledger, accounts payable, reconciliations, and the month-end close process. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate, timely financial information that supports the business.

As a Financial Accountant, you are expected to:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations

  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliations, proactively resolving discrepancies

  • Monitor and deliver the monthly close process in line with the group’s reporting timelines and prepare management accounts

  • Manage quarterly VAT returns

  • Prepare statutory financial statements

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated reports

  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures

  • Liaise with our tax representatives for certain tax-related matters

  • Take ownership of ad hoc financial tasks and projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and a hands-on approach

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., leadership, operations) and external parties (e.g., auditors, advisors, banks, suppliers), ensuring clear and timely information flow

Job requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Able to prepare and present clear, accurate, and reliable financial information and reports

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under tight reporting deadlines

  • Proactive, independent, and hands-on, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset
