Software Engineer (PHP/React/NextJS)

The role is restricted to those physically located in Europe, while this is a remote position, we cannot consider candidates that are not based in such region. Preference will be given to candidates based in Portugal or Malta.

As a Software Engineer you are expected to :

• Develop new features and address maintenance for our Product Portfolio

• Ensuring peak performance of our digital assets and swiftly resolving any issues

• Delivery high code quality standards

• Identify the causes of reported bugs and implement the respective fixes

• Collaborating seamlessly with designers, software and test engineers in an Agile setup

• Evaluating the impact of features and defects alongside the Product Owner

• Adhering diligently to industry and company software development standards

• Share and promote your ideas towards the improvement of the products and the business

Success in this role means :

• Improve usability of the platform for our Product Team
• Introduce new features that facilitate site migration and creation on the platform.
• Sites are maintained & kept up to date
• Sprint commitments are achieved regularly
• You are able to challenge the decisions taken within the team with fresh new ideas and solutions.

• 5+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer or similar role
• Strong knowledge in NextJS & React.js
• Proficiency in PHP programming language
• Experience with Wordpress development
• Extensive experience with React.js workflows like React Query
• Understanding of database technologies like SQL
• Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, and SCRUM
• Passionate about self-improvement and web technologies

• Strong English communication skills (written & verbal)
• Ability to address change with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new ways
• Available to work +/- 2 CET
• Experience with Typescript

Nice to haves :

• Experience in working with containers / docker
• Understanding of Caching
• Understanding of UI Libraries
• Knowledge of web analytic tools for monitoring website traffic and user behavior
• Experience working in a fast-paced work environment
• Knowledge of sports & casino gambling
• In possession of a STEM Degree
